Simon is a distinguished member of Thornhill Legal, bringing decades of international expertise and exceptional multilingual capabilities to the firm. Fluent in German, with working proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and French, Simon’s linguistic skills greatly enhance his ability to navigate cross-border legal and professional environments effectively.

Educated at the London School of Economics (MSc) and the University of Surrey (BSc), Simon has cultivated a deep understanding of international relations and legal development. During his tenure as International Programme Officer at the Bar Council of England and Wales, he designed and managed an extensive portfolio of international projects and events, ranging from large-scale initiatives to hosting visits by distinguished foreign legal professionals, including American judges and Commonwealth lawyers. His work involved collaboration with renowned organisations such as the American Bar Association (ABA) and the International Bar Association (IBA).

Simon also managed the prestigious Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme for Young Chinese Lawyers (“LCTS”), one of the most enduring legacies between the English and Chinese legal communities. Conducted in partnership with the Law Society of England and Wales, the Hong Kong Law Society, and the British Council, this program played a pivotal role in fostering mutual understanding and professional development between the two jurisdictions. Notably, some LCTS alumni have since become leading Chinese legal professionals and have gone on to establish top-tier law firms in China, including prominent "Red Circle" firms, further amplifying the program's impact and legacy.

Simon’s prior roles at the Local Government International Bureau and various public administration posts in London have further enriched his international perspective. His ability to engage with diverse legal systems and institutions makes him an invaluable contributor to our firm's mission of delivering world-class legal solutions.
